The World Poker Tour heads to Cyprus later this month for a WPT Prime festival, featuring a $1,000,000 GTD Main Event at Chamada Prestige Hotel & Casino. A relatively new live poker destination, Chamada has been running poker festivals since 2021 but this is the first time they’ve partnered with a major operator to bring the WPT back to Cyprus for the first time in a decade. Resorts World to Host The Big Deal for One Drop During F1; Hellmuth to Emcee

Resorts World Las Vegas announced a new high-stakes charity poker tournament in partnership with the World Poker Tour (WPT) and the One Drop Foundation that will take place during the Formula 1 weekend in November. The Big Deal for One Drop will be a $10,000 buy-in event with up to 54 players competing while raising money for the One Drop Foundation, which helps communities solve the water and climate crisis. Seventeen-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth is set to emcee the event.

Biography Mike Sexton was an American poker player and commentator. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2009. Over the course of his career he won a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and World Poker Tour title, and was a long-time commentator for the World Poker Tour alongside Vince van Patten. Sexton passed away in September 2020 from prostate cancer aged 72. Shortly before his death, the WPT Champions Cup was renamed to the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
