Keith Heine Reaches MSPT Hall of Fame Status; Raymer Final Tables in St. Louis

A few weekends back, the MSPT traveled to Hollywood Casino St. Louis for the $1,110 buy-in 2025 Missouri Poker State Championship. The tournament attracted 630 entrants over a trio of starting flights and awarded a prize pool of $605,720.

One player to cash that tournament was Keith Heine, who finished in 38th place for $2,502. While it was a rather lackluster finish for the man from Hillsboro, Missouri, it marked his 25th Main Event on the MSPT. He also won a MSPT title back in 2016, so those two feats combined allowed him to become just the 17th person in history to reach MSPT Hall of Fame status.

Players can earn their way into the MSPT Hall of Fame by achieving a minimum 25 Main Event cashes accompanied by at least one win or Player of the Year.

For Heine, it took him less than nine years to accomplish the feat as his first MSPT cash came back in March 2016 during the tour’s seventh season. That was also his MSPT win topping a 409-entry field to win the Meskwaki Main Event for $100,981. All told, Heine has $301,106 in MSPT lifetime earnings.

Latest MSPT Winner

Brian LandonSunday’s Day 2 saw 68 players return to action, and it took approximately 10 hours of play before Iowa native Brian Landon finished as the last player standing to claim a $102,785 top prize and his first MSPT title.

“It’s amazing,” Landon said. “I never thought I could do this, but I guess I was wrong.”

One player that Landon eliminated along the way was 2004 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champ Greg Raymer. According to updates from the event, it happened in Level 25 (30,000/60,000/60,000) with seven players remaining.

Greg RaymerThat is when Raymer moved all in from under the gun holding to red sevens only to have Landon wake up with pocket aces in late position. Raymer was looking for a “seven from heaven,” but it wasn’t in the cards as the board ran out dry for the WSOP bracelet winner.
