Harrahs Cherokee Expect Huge WSOPC Turnout With $5.87m In Guarantees
Table Of Contents
Harrah’s Cherokee is always one of the biggest stops on the World Series of Poker Circuit. This February’s edition of the WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee festival will be no exception, with a massive $5,870,000 in guarantees across 18 events.
These guarantees include two seven-figure amounts — $1,000,000 for the $400 Mini Main and $1,500,000 for the $1,700 Main Event.
The smallest of these prize pool guarantees is set at $20,000 for a $300 closed event (the Ladies event, to be held on February 21). This fact alone gives a sense of how big the organizers expect the festival to be.
What To Play At The WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee
There are 18 ring events on the schedule for the WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee. The Main and Mini Main will be two of the most sought after victories thanks to their substantial guarantees.
However, players hunting for a ring will have better odds if they look to the smaller field events.
Seniors and ladies may want to look at the relevant closed events — Event #3 and Event #15 for the older folks and Event #11 for the lasses. High rollers will want to consider Events #17 and #9 with buy ins of $2,200 and $1,100 respectively. And four-card fans will enjoy Event #5: $400 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better and Event #7: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha.
Whatever your game or budget, there are also daily satellites and side events to play, many of which cost as little as $100 to enter.
The Defending Champion
It has only been a couple of months since the last edition of the WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee festival back in December 2024.
Jacob Hamed grabbed both the Main Event ring and one of the pot limit Omaha rings as well.
Hamed took home $299,010 for his Main Event victory, beating Vaughn Steeves of Boston, MA heads up for all the tea. Steeves won $199,338 for his second-place finish.
Since Hamed plays a lot of poker, with live tourney cashes in multiple states over the last few months, the odds are good that he will return to Harrah’s Cherokee to defend his title this February.
The December 2024 festival was also a key moment in the race for the 2024 GPI Female POY race when eventual winner, Cherish Andrews took down a $1,000 NLH event, closing the gap on the then POY leader Kristen Foxen.
Andrews went on to eventually win the title outright.

How many decks are used in poker?
how many decks are used in poker?
In most popular poker variants, such as Texas Hold’em and Omaha, a standard deck of 52 playing cards is used. Each deck contains four suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades) and consists of 13 ranks (Ace, 2 through 10, and the face cards: Jack, Queen, and King).
However, it’s important to note that the number of decks used in poker can vary depending on the specific game or variation being played. For example, some poker tournaments or cash games may use multiple decks to speed up the gameplay or reduce the frequency of card shuffling. In such cases, it is common to use two or more decks that are shuffled together.
