Phil Ivey Entertains at WPT World Championship Players Party in Las Vegas

On Thursday night, before the action kicked off in the highly-anticipated ClubWPT Gold $5,000,000 Freeroll, players were invited to special event. For the third year in a row, the WPT World Championship hosted an epic players party at AREA15.

Complete with a world-class DJ, DJ LEFIH, and complimentary food and drink, the party proved an entertaining affair. There were also acrobats and dancers, retro arcade games, and an immersive event space known for its 360-degree projection mapping technology, creating an otherworldly, interactive environment.

To gain entry, players had to present either a Golden Passport or a tournament receipt for the WPT World Championship, WPT Prime Championship, WPT Ladies Championship, or a satellite receipt relating to one of the three events. There was a complimentary shuttle that took players to and from the Wynn Las Vegas every 30 minutes.

Phil Ivey, who days earlier was in The Bahamas for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise, was back in Las Vegas and attended the party much to the delight of fans. Ivey hitting up both stops was actually a topic on this week’s episode of the PokerNews Podcast.

Another player in attendance was PokerNews Ontario Ambassador Kyle Anderson, who shared: “The WPT knows how to throw a party! I’ve never been to AREA15 before but I was very impressed by the venue! WPT had plenty of amazing food, entertainment, and an open bar. My favorite part was talking to all the excited freeroll qualifiers who could not wait to start the tournament the next day!”
