Steven Jones and Ryan Stiner Face Off on StakeKings in Arizona High Roller
StakeKings is making following poker tournaments more exciting by giving players a chance to sweat different teams of players.
The latest match-up pitted team captains Ryan Stiner and Steven Jones, best known for his deep run in the 2023 WSOP Main Event, against one another in the $2,000 Lone Butte Poker High Roller at Arizona’s Gila River Resorts & Casino that took place Nov. 22-24.
Team Jones consisted of Jones, Colton Blomberg, Tyler Hancock, Justin Pechie, Jonah Labranche and Tanner Lefferts, while Team Stiner was made up of Stiner, Lawrence Brandt, Brandon Mitchell, Kai Cohen, Danny Allen and Greg Orlick.
Team Jones Comes Out on Top
The exciting matchup saw Team Jones coming out on top over Team Steiner in the high-roller event. That meant victory for anyone who staked Team Jones on StakeKings.
Teams Jones earned the victory despite its captain being eliminated in 21st place in an unfortunate cooler where he ran kings into aces. Stiner and Pechie were the two remaining players for each team and Pechie stuck around the longest to lock up the victory.
As part of the promotion of the event, the Scottsdale-based Jones held a meet-up game on Nov. 21 where he played with fans who saw him win millions two summers ago in the WSOP Main Event.
