PokerStars North American SCOOP Series if Coming and its Going to Be Huge
The dates are out for one of the most anticipated online poker series in the game, the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) on PokerStars North America.
The dates, you ask? March 21 to April 7, and the tournaments will be available to those in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ontario, Canada. Three separate PokerStars platforms with three separate seven-figure guarantees across numerous juicy tournaments for nearly three weeks.
Here’s What to Expect
A full schedule isn’t yet out for the upcoming SCOOP series, but it will be coming soon, so stay tuned. For now, you should know that over $5.75 million will be guaranteed across the three poker sites — $2.2 million on the Michigan/New Jersey shared liquidity platform, $2 million in Pennsylvania, and $1.7 million in Ontario.
There will be a total of 131 tournaments during SCOOP North America (44 in Ontario, 44 in Michigan/New Jersey, and 43 in Michigan). There will be many similarities to past SCOOP events, with a little something for everyone. Mixed games, no-limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha, and more, all played at low, medium, and high stakes.
The SCOOP Main Events on each platform will take place April 6, with buy-ins of $50 (low), $300 (medium), and $2,500 (high).
“Winning a SCOOP title is one of the greatest achievements in online poker. Each year, this series delivers unforgettable moments, thrilling competition, hefty guarantees and life-changing prizes. We are thrilled to once again bring this opportunity to our players and continue building the legacy of SCOOP in North America,” Steve Preiss, VP of PokerStars North America, said.
Buy-ins for the series range from $5 to $2,500, with plenty of tournaments in between. Players do not have to reside in the PokerStars licensed states to compete in SCOOP, but must be present within the state or province while competing.
