Table Of Contents
The first of three PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) festivals in 2025 is rapidly approaching. APPT Cambodia is scheduled to take place at Phnom Penh, NagaWorld, between May 2 and 13. Over $1.5 million is guaranteed across a packed schedule, which includes a $1 million guaranteed APPT Cambodia Main Event.
The 2025 edition of APPT Cambodia marks the fourth time PokerStars has headed to Phnom Penh since 2022. The first two iterations had 25 events on their schedule, with last year seeing that number increase to 42. Between May 2-13, APPT Cambodia sees 68 events and satellites planned, making it the largest APPT Cambodia festival yet.
APPT Cambodia 2025 kicks off with the aptly named NagaWorld Kickoff, a $500 buy-in, $50,000 guaranteed tournament. Other eagerly anticipated events include a $750 Mystery Bounty with $100,000 guaranteed, a $1,000 APPT National boasting a $150,000 guarantee, and the $3,000 APPT High Roller, which also has $150,000 guaranteed.
This year’s APPT Cambodia Main Event commands a $1,750 buy-in and features a $1 million guarantee on its prize pool. A myriad of live APPT Cambodia Main Event satellites will be available during the festival, as will online satellites and Power Path specials at PokerStars closer to the festival’s dates.

2025 APPT Cambodia Main Event Has Twice the Guarantee as 2024
November 2024 was the last time an APPT Cambodia Main Event occurred. Then, it cost $1,650 to enter and PokerStars placed a $500,000 guarantee on its prize pool. Including re-entries, 518 players bought in and created a $746,153 prize pool.
The nine-handed final table was a cosmopolitan affair, with eight countries represented. Four finalists, Vyacheslav I, Ziad Zebib, Nicola Spicher, and runner-up Donghyup Kim, bagged career-best prizes despite contending with some vastly experienced opponents.
Ireland’s Sven McDermott finished seventh for $23,000, with Singapore superstar Abraham Ceesvin collecting $30,000 for his sixth-place finish. David Erquiaga, a player with over $2 million in cashes, finished fifth for $39,000.
Trong Hieu Ngo, the Vietnamese grinder who took down the 2024 APPT Manila event, was the third place finisher and scooped $66,000.
Christopher Mateo defeated Donghyup Kim heads-up, after striking a deal, and reeled in $126,500; Kim received $113,000. Mateo will almost certainly be in Cambodia to attempt a title defense; he is a regular on the Asian poker circuit and has so far racked up over $1.1 million from 220 cashes in Asia.
