WSOP Circuit Returns to Graton Casino for Stacked Festival in February

Table Of Contents

It’s almost time for the World Series of Poker Circuit festival at the Graton Resort & Casino in sunny California.

The WSOP Circuit Graton will be just short of two weeks worth of low to mid-stakes poker tournaments with 18 gold WSOP Circuit rings up for grabs.

The series kicks off on lucky February 13 and runs until February 24. During that time, players will win a minimum of $1.4 million in prize pool guarantees across nine key events. The biggest of these guarantees is the $500,000 guarantee for Event #13: $1,700 Main Event, the event everyone hopes to win.

Eighteen Ring Circus At Graton Resort & Casino

Graton CasinoWhen hunting rings at the WSOP Circuit Graton, most players will be hoping to land the biggest fish in the Main Event. This $1,700 buy in event is the flagship tourney of the festival. It has the biggest guarantee at $500,000 and has a good chance of being the biggest prize pool.

However, there is also a stack of smaller $400 events. These include the President’s Day Hold’em Event; some closed events like the Seniors and Ladies tournaments; and some non-holdem events like the H.O.R.S.E., Pot Limit Big O, and Limit Omaha 8. Players on a budget will definitely be able to find something that for them here.

For players who really want to play high without paying too much, the Great Ton Of Chips event starts with deep starting stacks set at 50,000 in chips with starting blinds of 100-200, all for a $250 buy in.

Players will also be able to play in live satellites on-site and remote satellites online.

The Defending Champion

Sasha SabbaghianLast year, Sasha Sabbaghian won the WSOP Circuit Graton $1,700 Main Event earning $168,015 for his win.

Sabbaghian’s victory came at the expense of Mitchell Tsang another California-based player who took second place for $112,010. The pair were the last two players standing out of a 580-entry field that generated $878,872 in prize money.

Sabbaghian is a regular on the Circuit, having most recently cashed in a pair of tournaments at the WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley. As a result, the odds seem good that he will be back at the Graton later in February to defend his title.
