Jesse Lonis Wins WSOP Gold Ring While at a Rap Battle; Expecting Daughter No. 3

There isn’t much Jesse Lonis hasn’t accomplished in the poker world over the past three years. He’s notched seven figures each year and is coming off a career year in 2024 where he amassed $7,586,501 in tournament earnings according to the Hendon Mob. He’s won live and online World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold bracelets and rings, taken titles inside PokerGO Studio and on the Triton Poker Tour, and finished runner-up in the GPI Player of the Year last year.

There isn’t much he hasn’t checked off his list of poker accomplishments, but one did come up recently as he claimed an online circuit ring while at a rather curious place.

The rap battle was known as “Turbulence” and took place on January 25th in North Las Vegas. The tournament was the WSOP Online Circuit Series Event #17: $125,000 No-Limit Hold’em.

The rap battle was at a little producing studio in North Las Vegas. Two guys go three rounds. It was a fun environment.”

For those wondering what a rap battle is like, here’s one featuring The Saurus taking on A. Ward:

It marked the third gold ring for Lonis, who is also a two-time bracelet winner. He previously won the 2020 WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley Event #2: $400 Knockout NLH for $11,062 and then the 2023 WSOP OnlineCircuit Super Series Event #8: $500 PLO BIG 6-Max for $14,430.

So, how does the latest compare to the other two?

“The third is just as nice as the other two,” Lonis shared. “I’m happy to win in the High Roller Six-Max. Those are the most fun tournaments to be very creative.”

Peter The poker world knows Lonis primarily from playing in the live realm where he’s amassed over $14 million in live tournament earnings according to the Hendon Mob.

“I’m mostly a live guy, but if it’s a Sunday or there’s something good to play I’ll fire it up and play,” Lonis admitted. “Having kids makes it easier to just chill and play online.”

There very well be more online play coming for Lonis this year as a new addition to the family is on the way.

“I’m gonna play a lighter schedule in 2025 since I have baby girl #3 coming this week,” he said. “Hoping my first travel is to Triton JeJu at the end of February.”
