Irish Poker Tour Takes a £200K Guaranteed Main Event to Bonny Scotland
Table Of Contents
The Irish Poker Tour is branching out in March by heading to the vibrant Scottish city of Glasgow. The Alea Glasgow casino hosts the Glasgow Poker Festival from the evening of March 3 through to the series’ conclusion on March 9. Over £270,000 will be won by the time the final hand is dealt, with £200,000 of that sum stemming from the £400 buy-in Main Event.
More than 560 entries are required for the Glasgow Poker Festival’s Main Event to hit the ambitious £200,000 guarantee. To help the Irish Poker Tour reach that total, several £70 satellites will run during the festival, while partner Paddy Power Poker has satellites awarding packages worth €1,250.
February 16 at 8:00 p.m. GMT is your next chance to capture a Glasgow Poker Festival package. The €100 buy-in IPT Glasgow Sat has three such packages guaranteed, with each awarding their winner:
Feeder satellites are available if the €100 buy-in is outside your bankroll’s reach. Two packages are guaranteed on Tuesday and again on Thursday, with Sunday’s satellite dishing out three of them. You can win multiple packages, but your first package must be used.

What to Expect from the IPT Glasgow Main Event
The £400 buy-in, £200,000 guaranteed Glasgow Poker Festival Main Event is the crown jewel of the bustling schedule. It features seven flights, each allowing a single re-entry before the end of the ninth level. Each Day 1 lasts for 15 levels, each spanning 30 minutes.
Should you buy in or re-enter at the last possible time, as Level 9 concludes, your 40,000 starting stack will be worth the equivalent of 25 big blinds, so you’ll still have ample room to manoeuvre. Levels extend to 45 minutes on Day 2, with blinds starting at 2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante.
