Ari Engel won yet another poker tournament on Thursday, this one an $1,100 buy-in Omaha/8 and Stud/8 Mixed event at the 2025 LA Poker Classic (LAPC).

The tournament at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, the 33rd of the series, played down to the final five on Wednesday. All remaining players returned to action the following day to determine a champion.

The champion defeated Sean Yu, a nine-time WSOPC ring winner and World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, heads-up for the title. Yu, playing in his hometown of Los Angeles, received $8,090. He has over $3.1 million in live tournament cashes, according to The Hendon Mob.

Engel, a four-time WSOP bracelet winner, is closing in on $9 million in lifetime live tournament earnings. He’s 13th all time among Canadians. Daniel Negreanu leads the way with $54.4 million in cashes.
