PokerStars ambassador Jason Koon has a price on his head in a new promotion from PokerStars North America.

In a pair of special “Chasin’ Jason” freeroll tournaments that are scheduled for just before Christmas, PokerStars has put a massive bounty on Koon’s head. The prize for knocking Koon out of these tournaments is a European Poker Tour Gold Pass to the EPT Monte Carlo worth $10,300.

The Gold Pass includes a buyin to the EPT Monte Carlo main event and it also covers the cost of plane tickets and accommodation.

Chasin’ Jason Koon All the Way to Monte Carlo

EPT Monte Carlo 2024 Tournament RoomThe “Chasin’ Jason” freeroll tournaments each have a $10,000 prize pool, but the real action will be at whichever table Jason Koon draws. With $10,300 on his head, Koon will be playing defense against a table full of hunters out for his hide all the way to the final table. He won’t be able to rest until he busts out or takes down the whole shooting match.

If you want to be one of those hunters and to have a chance to play with one of the best poker players in the world, the first event is scheduled for December 21 for Pennsylvania player pool. The second event is set for the next day, December 22, for the shared New Jersey-Michigan player pool.

R. J. Peterson, the Senior Director of Marketing at PokerStars North America explained the idea behind the freeroll.

“Jason has already brought incredible energy to PokerStars," Peterson said. “And this freeroll is the perfect way to celebrate. It’s not every day you get the chance to face off against a poker legend and potentially win your way to Monte Carlo.”

“Game On!”

Jason KoonIf you register for the tournament and find yourself at Koon’s table, you will still need to find a way to bust him. That is not going to be an easy task.

Koon is one of the top tournament players in the world with $59.2 million in live tournament cashes — a score that puts him 4th on the all-time cash leaderboard.

Although an online freeroll has much lower stakes than his usual games, Koon has no intention of going gentle into that good night. “Don’t think I’ll go easy on anyone,” Koon told the press.

“If you want the Gold Pass, you’ll have to earn it by taking me out… Game on!”
