Mark Your Calendar: 2025 WSOP to Run in Las Vegas from May 27—July 16

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is wrapping up 2024 down in The Bahamas with WSOP Paradise, but they’re already looking ahead to the New Year by announcing the dates for the 56th Annual WSOP in Las Vegas.

For the fourth consecutive year, the summer WSOP will take place at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. The series will run from May 27 to July 16, 2025, while the $10,000 Main Event will start on July 2 with the final table taking place between July 15-16 inside the Horseshoe Events Center.

“Each year allows us to refine further and improve the WSOP offering, and 2025 will be no exception,” WSOP CEO Ty Stewart said in a press release. “Expect the biggest poker events on the planet, the best action, and the most intense competition as we once again welcome tens of thousands of poker enthusiasts eager to experience the magic of the WSOP.”

While the WSOP was purchased by GGPoker earlier this year, things will largely be business as usual this summer thanks to a licensing agreement with Caesars Entertainment.

“As the calendar flips to 2025, we’re looking forward to inviting the global poker community back to the iconic Las Vegas Strip for the 56th annual World Series of Poker,” said Jack Effel, Senior Vice President of Poker Operations and WSOP at Caesars Entertainment. “Building on last year’s triumphs and familiar faces winning WSOP bracelets, we are excited to see who will expand their legacy or become a new legend by passing poker’s ultimate test in the game’s most iconic arena.”

Jack EffelWhile the full schedule won’t be released until early 2025 – traditionally in either February or March – the WSOP confirmed that “fan favorite” events such as the Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship are all set to return. They also hinted there will be “some new, exciting tournament formats.”

WSOP satellites outside the U.S. will be exclusively held at GGPoker beginning in January. Online pre-registration will open after all events have been determined and approved by regulators.

FAQ

How many decks are used in poker?

how many decks are used in poker? In most popular poker variants, such as Texas Hold’em and Omaha, a standard deck of 52 playing cards is used. Each deck contains four suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades) and consists of 13 ranks (Ace, 2 through 10, and the face cards: Jack, Queen, and King). However, it’s important to note that the number of decks used in poker can vary depending on the specific game or variation being played. For example, some poker tournaments or cash games may use multiple decks to speed up the gameplay or reduce the frequency of card shuffling. In such cases, it is common to use two or more decks that are shuffled together.
