WSOP Circuit to Make Cross-Country Trip in August
The upcoming month of the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) schedule begins on one end of the country and concludes on the other.
Circuit action for the 2024-2025 season kicked off in Durant, Oklahoma at Choctaw Casino & Resort earlier this month, just after the World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet series in Las Vegas wrapped. Justin Lapka won the $1,700 buy-in Main Event for $252,282, beating out 1,017 players.
What’s Up Next for the WSOP Circuit?
Now that Choctaw is in the rear view mirror, it’s time to move our attention to the next stop, and that is to Cherokee, North Carolina. More specifically, Harrah’s Cherokee, one of the top poker destinations in the United States.
The series begins Wednesday out East, and concludes August 12. Action starts with the $600 No-Limit Hold’em Opener, the first of 20 gold rings up for grabs. And it concludes with the $400 Double Stack Closer, also a no-limit hold’em tournament.
In between those days, Harrah’s Cherokee will offer a $300 Ladies Event (Aug. 9), and the $1,700 buy-in Main Event, a staple at most WSOPC stops. Maurice Hawkins moved into second place all time with his 16th Circuit ring at this same casino in May when he took down the Main Event for $259,160.

Shifting to the West Coast
From the East Coast to the West Coast the WSOP Circuit will head just a couple days after the conclusion of the Harrah’s Cherokee series. The next stop will take place at Graton Casino in Rohnert Park, California, another Circuit favorite among the players.
The series kicks off Aug. 15 with a $400 Big 30K Stack Kickoff, which features a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. That will be the first gold ring of 18 awarded during the Graton series. As is always the case, the highlight event will be the Main Event, again a $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament with $500,000 guaranteed.
On the final day, Aug. 26, the last ring events take place — $250 Seniors Event and $400 The Bay Area Closer.
