Joey Ingram Involved in Aces vs Kings vs Queens Three-Way All in Pot
Poker content creator extraordinaire Joey Ingram is rebuilding a stack after losing a cooler monster pot on Day 2 of the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship at Wynn.
The $10,400 buy-in tournament attracted 2,392 players and is scheduled to play five 90-minute levels on Tuesday. It’s unlikely the tournament will hit the money before the session concludes. But at the time of publishing there were nearly 700 players remaining, all dreaming of winning the $3,138,900 first place prize.
Crazy Poker Hand
Ingram is one of the players still hoping to get a piece of the $23.4 million prize pool and one of the 299 entrants who are seeking a cash in a major poker tournament. But it looked as if he wasn’t going to last long on Day 2, not after losing a three-way cooler pot for a big chunk of his chips.
The “great game of pot-limit Omaha” specialist, as he told PokerNews on a break, raised two big blinds from under the gun with pocket kings. The player directly to his left called with, as he’d later learn, pocket queens. Action then heated up when the cutoff opted to flat call with aces.
“Papi” then jammed for 25 big blinds and received calls from the larger-stacked queens and smaller-stacked aces. The board would provide no improvement to any of the three hands, meaning pocket aces scooped the main pot. Ingram received a bit of a rebate from the side pot against pocket queens, but he still lost a chunk in the hand.
The good news for the PLO enthusiast is that he grinded his way back to around 25 big blinds on break, when this article was published. He check-raised all in on the flop in the hand before break and took down the preflop three-way raised pot without receiving a call.
Ingram said it was the first time he’d picked up pocket kings in the tournament. He may be known more for playing PLO, but this no-limit hold’em event is a big deal to him.
“This is basically one of the big $10Ks I play every single year, and I’m excited,” Ingram said in a recent interview with PokerNews. “I’ve been visualizing, meditating, working with solvers—you know, solvers, meditation, and reading Twitter. Everyone always has nice things to say on Twitter.”
The Las Vegas resident continued to explain that he’s competing in a major NLH event because “I’m a big supporter of the World Poker Tour” and Wynn Las Vegas.

How many decks are used in poker?
how many decks are used in poker?
In most popular poker variants, such as Texas Hold’em and Omaha, a standard deck of 52 playing cards is used. Each deck contains four suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades) and consists of 13 ranks (Ace, 2 through 10, and the face cards: Jack, Queen, and King).
However, it’s important to note that the number of decks used in poker can vary depending on the specific game or variation being played. For example, some poker tournaments or cash games may use multiple decks to speed up the gameplay or reduce the frequency of card shuffling. In such cases, it is common to use two or more decks that are shuffled together.
