Dusk Till Dawn Hosts the 2024 GGPoker UK Poker Championships

The partnership between GGPoker and Dusk Till Dawn has bore fruit once again, with the latter gearing up to host the 2024 UK Poker Championships (UKPC). Following on from an action-packed 2023 UKPC, the 2024 edition runs from January 20-29 and sees a host of tournaments, including a 500,000 guaranteed UKPC Main Event.

Although the 2024 UKPC does not start until January 20, poker players at Dusk Till Dawn for the APAT UK Team Championships this weekend can attempt to win one of five 560 UKPC Main Event seats for only 30. At 5:00 p.m. GMT on January 14, an open-to-all UKPC Main Event satellite will award five seats to the 500,000 guaranteed Main Event.

A 230 buy-in, 100,000 guaranteed UKPC Opener lights the blue touchpaper under the UKPC at 1:00 p.m. GMT on January 20. It features four Day 1s, including a turbo-charged Day 1D.

Other events include a 1,100 High Roller, a 2,700 Super High Roller, and the eagerly-anticipated 560 buy-in, 500,000 guaranteed Main Event.

Thanks Dusk Till Dawn and GGPoker's relationship, it is possible to play Day 1A and Day 1B of the UKPC Main Event online at GGPoker. The first OnLive Day 1 starts at 8:05 p.m. GMT on January 20, with the second online flight scheduled for the same time on January 23.

Each OnLive Day 1 last 14 levels spanning 20 minutes, or until only 5% of the field remains, whichever comes first. Surviving players progress direct to Day 2 on January 28. While players are permitted to play both OnLive Day 1s, only their largest stack carries forward if they progress from both.

Those preferring Live Day 1s have four to choose from, each running at Dusk Till Dawn as per the schedule below.

What Happened at the 2023 UKPC?

The 2023 edition of the UKPC was a success, with players from far and wide competing for some sizable prize pools.

Lewis Cowell emerged as the 230 UKPC Warm Up champion, outlasting 495 opponents on his way to collecting a 14,935 payout.

Popular grinder Adam Neal defeated Dusk Till Dawn regular Waheed "Wadey" Ashraf heads-up in the 1,100 High Roller, and padded his bankroll with 25,325 as a result. Andy "BowieEffect" Wilson triumphed in the 40-strong 2,700 Super High Roller; his victory was worth 40,000.

Last year's UKPC Main Event drew in 1,148 entrants, resulting in a guarantee-busting 556,780 prize pool. Plenty of stellar names were among the in-the-money finishers, including Diego Zeiter, Jamie Clossick, Yucel Eminoglu, Ilana Belsky, Christopher Johnson, Yiannis Liperis, and Daniel Smyth. However, it was Karl Guiness who was the last player standing; Guiness collected 84,875.

Although PokerNews is not reporting live from Dusk Till Dawn, we will have an ear to the ground so we can bring you all of the latest UKPC news and results throughout the festival.
